Tank Outfitters

Built strong. Delivered right. Ready for
the job.

Our Story

At Tank Outfitters, we know that storage isn’t just a checkbox on a spec sheet. It’s something you rely on every day: to move water, protect crops, support operations, and keep your work moving.

We’ve spent decades building tanks alongside the people who use them, learning where they perform, where they fall short, and what matters once they’re in service. More importantly, we learned what gets in the way: antiquated ordering channels, slow responses, hidden pricing, confusing options, and service that feels transactional instead of dependable.

Our Mission

To us, tanks aren’t new - but the way they should be sold, delivered, and supported? Tank Outfitters exists to simplify the whole experience.

This business was built by doers. We combine hard-earned manufacturing expertise with a fresh perspective on what customers actually need: reliable products; choices that make sense; clear answers; and people you can count on. From the moment you explore our lineup to the day you put one in the field - we’re here to support what you need.

We aren’t here to be the biggest. We’re here to be the best partner in the space - streamlined, responsive, and proudly hands-on.

Built strong. Delivered right. Ready for the job. That’s Tank Outfitters.

FAQs

Tank Outfitters

What does Tank Outfitters do?

Tank Outfitters designs, builds, and
delivers high-quality polyethylene tanks and tank systems. We focus on making
tanks easier to buy, easier to ship, and easier to use - without sacrificing
durability or performance.

Where are your tanks made?

Our tanks are rotomolded in North America
by experienced manufacturers who specialize in polyethylene products built for
long-term use. Our parent company – RTS Plastics – has been rotomolding tanks
for over 25 years. They are the real deal!

What are your tanks made from?

Our tanks are made from high-quality,
UV-stabilized polyethylene designed for strength, impact resistance, and
outdoor durability.

What is Specific Gravity (SG)?

Specific Gravity (SG) measures how heavy a liquid is compared to water. A 1.5 SG tank is ideal for most farm and commercial liquids, while a 1.9 SG tank is designed for heavier liquids like brines and dense fertilizers. For a more complete guide go {here}.

Shipping & Returns

Are your tanks safe for water storage?

Yes. Many of our tanks are suitable for water storage. Always check the individual product page to confirm potable-water suitability and recommended applications. For potable water applications, our natural-coloured tanks are suitable. For outdoor water storage where algae growth is a concern – we recommend going with a black tank to keep the UV out of the tank.

How are tanks shipped?

Most tanks ship via LTL (less-than-truckload) freight. Because of their size, freight shipments don’t always include detailed tracking, but we’ll share tracking information when it’s available. For our detailed shipping policy go {here}.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping typically takes 2–10 business days, depending on your location and the product ordered. Transit times may vary based on freight carrier schedules. For our detailed shipping policy go {here}.

Is shipping free?

Shipping policies vary by product and destination. Any applicable shipping costs will be clearly shown at checkout. For our detailed shipping policy go {here}.

Orders

Can I cancel or change my order?

If you need to cancel or update an order, contact us as soon as possible after placing it. Once an order enters production or ships, changes may not be possible. For our detailed shipping policy go {here}.

Will I need a forklift or equipment to receive my tank?

Many tanks are large and heavy. Depending on the size of your order, a forklift, tractor, or liftgate service may be required. We recommend reviewing delivery requirements before ordering.

Do tanks come with fittings installed?

All our standard tanks include at least one lid and one outlet fitting (bulkhead). All bulkheads should be tightened to manufacturers specifications before your tank is filled to ensure a leak free fit. Check the product page for specific details.

What if my tank arrives damaged?

Inspect your shipment upon delivery. If you notice any damage, note it with the carrier and contact us right away so we can help resolve the issue.

Do you offer bulk or commercial orders?

Yes. If you’re ordering a large quantity of
tanks or need a solution for a commercial application, reach out to us directly
and we’ll help you spec the right setup. Contact Us

Do you offer custom fabrication?

Yes. Through our parent company RTS Plastics, we can take on whatever custom project you can dream up. Reach out and we will get you connected with one of our very capable industrial sales techs.

How do I know which tank is right forme?

If you’re not sure which tank fits your application, our team is happy to help. Reach out with details about what you’re storing, available space, and how you plan to use it and we will be able to find the best tank for you. Contact Us

What can I store in this tank?

Most tanks are commonly used for water, liquid fertilizers, and other agricultural or industrial liquids. Always check the product page to confirm compatibility with your specific use and don’t hesitate to reach out and talk to our technical team. Sometimes the tank itself will hold up just fine, but we will recommend different gaskets on fittings.
